Gordis Epidemiology, 7/e
Epidemiology is the foundational discipline underlying public health. Clinical research relies heavily on epidemiologic concepts and methods, and contemporary medical care and health services research, particularly relevant in comparative effectiveness studies and statistical approaches to "big data" (as in the use of the electronic medical record for health studies).
