About the Author

Dr Zia Chaudhuri, MS, DNB, MNAMS, FRCS (Glasg), FICO, PhD (Genetics), FAMS, is Director-Professor of Ophthalmology at Lady Hardinge Medical College and associated hospitals, University of Delhi, and ABVIMS and Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, New Delhi, India, with specialty training and work in strabismus, pediatric ophthalmol¬ogy, neuro-ophthalmology, nystagmus, and genetics. She has over 150 publications and has edited 5 books in ophthalmology. Dr Chaudhuri has extensive teaching expe¬rience of over 24 years in guiding and mentoring undergraduate medical students, postgraduate students in ophthalmology, research fellows in biotechnology and genetics, nursing officers, technical staff, optometrists, as well as international men¬tees, both clinical and research, under the aegis of the Association of Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO). She was awarded the BOYSCAST Fellowship of the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India (GOI), for undergoing training in dynamic functional high-res¬olution surface coil MRI of the eyes in strabismus and optic nerve at the University of California, Los Angeles, USA.

Dr Piyush Kumar R Ramavat, MS, DNB, is presently working as Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at Lady Hardinge Medical College and associated hospitals, University of Delhi, New Delhi, India. He has acquired training and expertise in glaucoma from PGIMER and Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, New Delhi, as a Senior Resident as well as an Assistant Professor during his tenure at the ESIC Medical College and Hospital, Faridabad. He has been actively involved in ophthal¬mology teaching and research for the last 11 years. He is a member of several national and international ophthalmic societies, has presented several scientific research papers, and has been a faculty instructor at these forums. He received an ICMR grant for presenting his work at the XXXI Congress of the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, Amsterdam.
